Castleford Roll Call
By Andy Wiseman
Congratulations to staff James Bostock, Elly Loman, and Art Watkins for their efforts working with students taking courses via the internet through the Idaho Digital Learning Academy. Castleford was recently recognized as a regional winner for the best implementation this school year.
We are now in the second week of the fourth quarter of this school year and would remind parents to monitor their child’s progress via the internet. To review this process feel free to contact Stacy Kinyon at the school. The staff is busy teaching the concepts students will need for the spring ISAT testing set to begin the week of April 13th.
One big new event we will be sponsoring on May 1st is the comeback of the science fair. Kate Dahl will be spear heading this event. If you would like to volunteer as a judge of a helper in this activity please contact the school. We would like to have a parents and interested community members attend as a spectator.
Laurie Howard, athletic director, announces that the winter sport awards assembly will be April 1st at 7:30 pm in the school gymnasium. The awards will be for girls basketball, boy’s basketball, cheerleading and dance. Also, on April 1st Mr. Wells, and student teacher Mrs. Fillmore will be taking 23 students to a activity to plant bitterbrush with the BLM. The students have participated in the past and appreciate this hands on activity.
The FCCLA and FFA are looking forward to their state conferences April 9-11. We have many students to receiving individual awards and the chapters are competing in state level competitions. The FFA will be in Twin Falls while the FCCLA is traveling to the Boise Valley.
